Position Overview
The Production Equipment Technician is responsible for the hands-on operation, setup, and routine adjustment of automated and manual production equipment across VistaApex Solutions’ manufacturing lines. This role serves as a critical link between production efficiency and equipment reliability, ensuring that machines are running within specifications, properly configured, and minimally disrupted by technical issues.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently on equipment such as automated syringe fillers, automated and manual labeling machines, dental tip manufacturing equipment, automated and manual bottle and syringe filling lines, and associated support equipment. This is a production-floor role requiring both technical capability and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Functions
- Set up, operate, and monitor automated and manual production equipment including syringe fillers, bottle filling lines, dental tip manufacturing machines, and labeling systems
- Perform machine changeovers including label changes, part swaps, and product-specific configuration adjustments to meet production schedules
- Adjust machine settings (speed, temperature, pressure, fill volume, etc.) to maintain output quality and minimize waste or downtime
- Perform routine equipment inspections and replace easy-access wear parts such as nozzles, gaskets, tubing, and label rolls
- Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and coordinate with maintenance or engineering for issues beyond scope
- Operate labeling equipment and verify label accuracy including lot numbers, expiration dates, and product identifiers in accordance with quality standards
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), batch records, and work instructions for all equipment operations
- Maintain accurate production logs, machine settings records, and changeover documentation
- Ensure all operations comply with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice), OSHA, and internal safety and quality standards
- Communicate equipment performance issues, deviations, or quality concerns promptly to production supervision
- Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready work environment at all times
- Assist with training new production team members on equipment operation and safe work practices
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production operations
- Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in a mechanical, electromechanical, or manufacturing-related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience will be considered
- Experience
- 1–3 years of experience operating or setting up production, packaging, or manufacturing equipment in a regulated environment (healthcare, pharmaceutical, dental, food & beverage, or similar)
- Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor adjustments, part replacements, and basic troubleshooting on production machinery
- Ability to read and interpret SOPs, work instructions, machine manuals, and technical documents
- Strong attention to detail with a quality-first mindset; experience working in GMP or ISO-regulated environments preferred
- Comfort working with computerized machine interfaces, HMI panels, and basic production software
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a production team
- Self-directed and dependable; able to manage tasks and priorities with minimal supervision during active production runs

- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift)
- Frequent reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, and lifting
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Manual dexterity required for fine-motor equipment adjustments, part handling, and operation of tools and machinery
- Visual acuity is needed to read machine displays, verify label accuracy, and identify equipment issues
- Must be able to safely operate equipment and perform all duties in accordance with OSHA standards for workplace safety

- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, moderate noise levels, and temperature variations

- May work in proximity to automated filling, labeling, and manufacturing
