Position Overview
The Manufacturing Systems Manager will oversee and manage the digital production environment that drives the manufacturing of Perio Protect dental medical devices, ensuring that software, data, equipment, and networked systems operate reliably to support efficient, high-quality, and compliant production. This role will be responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining quality control, owning production systems, and ensuring timely delivery of products through a fully connected digital workflow.

The Manufacturing Systems Manager will oversee and manage the digital production environment that drives the manufacturing of Perio Protect dental medical devices, ensuring that software, data, equipment, and networked systems operate reliably to support efficient, high-quality, and compliant production. This role will be responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining quality control, owning production systems, and ensuring timely delivery of products through a fully connected digital workflow.
Production Planning & Management
- Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring alignment with company goals and deadlines.
- Ensure digital job routing, print queues, and case tracking systems support production schedules and throughput.
- Monitor daily production activities, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate with lab and production leadership to maintain an uninterrupted production flow.
- Analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies for optimization.
- Own and maintain the digital production systems including 3D design software, case databases, print management software, and machine interfaces.
- Ensure reliable data flow from case intake through design, printing, and finished device production.
- Troubleshoot software, network, file, and equipment integration issues that disrupt production.
- Implement system updates, backups, and improvements to improve stability, speed, and scalability.
- Manage, train, and motivate production staff to ensure a skilled, productive workforce.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, digital best practices, and continuous improvement.
- Provide feedback in performance reviews and provide coaching to enhance team performance.
- Ensure production processes adhere to regulatory requirements, including ISO 13485 and FDA guidelines for medical devices.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with all quality standards and address any quality issues promptly.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices to maintain high-quality output.
- Oversee the procurement of raw materials, equipment, and other resources needed for production.
- Manage the maintenance and uptime of production systems, computers, networks, and connected equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Implement cost-effective strategies to optimize the use of resources while maintaining high production quality.
- Ensure that safety protocols are followed, and that all team members are trained in workplace safety.
- Implement risk management strategies to prevent incidents and ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:
- At least 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing systems, digital production, industrial IT, or regulated manufacturing environments, with at least 3 years in medical device, dental, or similarly regulated production.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA, GMP) specific to medical devices.
- Proven track record of leading teams and managing manufacturing systems and workflows effectively.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
- Proficient in production, IT, and manufacturing systems including databases, file management, CAD/CAM or 3D printing software, and digital workflow tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
