Position Overview
The Production Assembly Level III – Team Lead serves as a working lead on the production floor, bridging the gap between Production Level II and the Production Quality Manager. This role is responsible for preparing and staging upcoming production jobs, performing quality label verifications in accordance with QF 7.5-3.1, clearing lines between orders, tracking team productivity, and signing off on first pieces. This role ensures that all work areas are ready before production begins, and that jobs flow smoothly within their assigned area, with minimal downtime and rework. All responsibilities must be performed in strict compliance with the company’s Quality Management System, following ISO 13485 standards and documented manufacturing procedures to ensure product integrity, traceability, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality label verifications per QF 7.5-3.1, including confirming all labels, IFUs, and packaging components are present, at the correct revision, and contain accurate variable information (lot number, manufacturing date, expiration date, quantities)
  • Prepare and stage upcoming production jobs for assigned areas, verifying all materials, components, and quantities match the Work Order and Bill of Materials (BOM) before production begins
  • Clear production lines between orders, ensuring all prior materials, labels, and components are removed and the area is properly set up for the next job
  • Sign off on first-piece inspections to confirm product is being built correctly before full production runs begin
  • Track and record team productivity throughout the shift, monitoring output against production targets and communicating any variances to the Production Quality Manager
  • Act as the primary liaison between production operators and the Production Quality Manager, communicating issues, schedule changes, and status updates in a timely manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas in accordance with 5S, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards
  • Accurately follow and enforce written manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and batch records; escalate discrepancies to the manager as needed
  • Adhere to all company quality, safety, and regulatory policies to ensure product integrity and employee safety

Role in Production Hierarchy
Production Assembly Level III – Team Lead
  • Positioned above Production Level II and below the Production Quality Manager in the production hierarchy
  • Exercises independent judgment in day-to-day production decisions within their assigned area while escalating non-routine issues to the manager
  • Holds authority to sign off on label verifications and first-piece inspections; does not have full supervisory authority over personnel
  • Recognized as a cross-trained subject matter expert across multiple production areas with proven tenure and performance
  • Supports training and mentoring of Level I and Level II team members and serves as a resource for procedural questions on the floor

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably medical devices or dental products
  • Cross-trained in multiple production areas with demonstrated proficiency; ability to step in and support across various jobs as needed
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform and document quality verifications accurately, including label checks and first-piece sign-offs
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; comfortable conveying production status, issues, and priorities to both operators and Managers
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, maintain composure under pressure, and keep production moving efficiently
  • Basic math, reading, writing, and comprehension skills required to follow work instructions and complete documentation accurately
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving processes, regulatory requirements, and production priorities
